An open letter to the community

Working on the server takes time and effort, as a solo dev, it's practically impossible to test every feature in every scenario under every condition. If you notice a game breaking bug, do let me know, by either creating a bug post in the Bugs thread channel or by leaving a reply under the mega-thread.

Not every minor inconvenience is a bug, take some time to learn the mechanics, double check your key bindings, read the messages sent on discord and the patch notes and ask around. You don't have to open a ticket or personally DM me just to ask me why you can't uncuff someone from behind after you cuffed them from the front.

I worked on the V2 from scratch and did my best during the last week (which was meant to be a vacation week) to provide you with a unique and stable RP experience. I know there are things I missed or forgot to add, I know somethings won't work as intended the first time and fully understand your frustration when things don't go as planned or if you lose a certain item that you have worked so hard to get. This is my second RP server ever, that I made not only out of passion and interest in the topic but also because I wanted to help out someone I've long followed on the community / twitch.

I don't get paid to work on the project, hell, no one could ever afford my daily rates if I were to charge for the time I spend working on it. And NO, this is not a flex, I need you to understand that sacrifices are being made to make something new and different and that the goal of Ouroboros is not to compete with existing servers or communities, but to deliver a new and different experience to those who seek it. The V2 is packed with hidden features that even I forgot about or still haven't documented. It'll take time for everything to be stable again, and for new features and updates to be released, all I ask of you is to:

• Keep your roleplay clean

• Read the patch notes and announcements we make

• Report bugs in the proper channels

• Treat everyone with respect, including owners and every staff member

• And for the love of god stop tagging me on discord.

Bugs / Missing features:

UI

• Crosshairs added

Consumables

• Foods and consumables now add to hunger and thirst.

• Cigarettes added to reduce stress.

• Drugs have certain buffs (armor, movement speed, stamina ..etc) but be careful, you can get addicted.

  • Check `/addictions` for your current addiction levels.

  • Alcohol addictions can be reduced by drinking tons of water.

  • Other addictions (drugs, cigarettes) don't currently have a way to reduce it, it just takes time.

• Shops restocked and new items added!

Interactions

• Use `/steal` to rob.

• Police officers can now take out all vehicles (ranks 2 - 4), recruits can only take out normal patrol vehicles.

• Recycling material exchange fixed.

• Fist damage and other melee nerfed (pending testing).

• Weed table fixed.

• Management menus fixed (not all of them, I'll add them 1 by 1)

Rewards

• Fixed Fleeca not giving the right amount of black money

• Fixed store robbery not giving black money

Shops

• Illegal shop fixed.

• Cheese Package fixed for Burgershot.

• Mechanic repair tool image added

Updates:

• 2 new crafting tables added:

  • 1 Weapon crafting bench in a random location near water.

  • 1 Ammo/Tools crafting bench in a really obvious location.

• Off duty pay re-enabled, but it will be disabled again later. It's not a bug, you weren't getting paid because you we off-duty for too long. Payments are distributed every 15min.

• Removed multi-job menu.

• Added back grappler for police vehicles

• TVs added back `/tv`, playing any inappropriate media on the tv's will get everyone involved perma-banned (there are logs for every interaction).

• Added scenes to restaurant jobs and police:

  • Use `/createscene` to add a 3D text in certain location, use it to place menus, warnings .. etc

Bug fixes

• EMS alerts are no longer triggered when players go down (except when they hit the "G" key)

• NPC Ambulance running out of fuel fixed.

• More blacklisted vehicles

• Fixed bug where police bodycam menu show's up when you press E near the external door

Buffs

• Farming prices buffed

• Garbarge truck payout buffed

• Chopshop material rewards buffed

• House robbery rewards value increased

Nerfs

• Trucking rewards nerfed 15k -> 7.5k

• 24/7 robbery:

  • Only one player can rob a register at a time

  • Cooldown increased (10-20min -> 20-60min)

  • Required number of cops increased (4 -> 5)

Updates

• "/help" command added

• Vehicle push brought back

• Clothing store blips fixed and ped menu removed

• Recycle job added :) Just visit the recycle and talk to the NPCs

• Cars no longer suddenly break down (sorry about that)

• Warehouses are now available for sale

Bug fixes

• Implemented a potential fix for players getting locked inside lockpicked vehicles. (The fix might not be final, but if you have a reproduction scenario, please open a ticket).

• You now can't escort a player during a drive by.

Buffs

• Trucking

  • Quick jobs now pay 25% more

  • Freight jobs base pay is increased 6k -> 15k (you need to bring your own truck to pick up the trailer).

Nerfs

• Store robbery:

  • requires (2 -> 4) police online

• ATM robbery:

  • requires 2 police online

  • gives out marked bills (8k-15k)

  • has 2 different hacks (if you fail the memory one, make sure to check the video in the email you get.)

  • cooldown increased (1min -> 15min)

  • police are now notified the moment you succeed in hacking the ATM (previously they were only notified after you collect the money).

• FuroreGT you favorite sports car:

  • Top speed nerfed: (260km/h-300km/h) -> 200km/h :4Evil:

Updates

• EMS: To help out EMS, a new system has been introduced to automatically call NPC ambulance 25 seconds after you're knocked out. This is only applicable if the number of online EMS players is lower than 2.

• Repair tables added to both mechanic shops:

  • outside of Otto's - next to Pizzeria

  • The tuner shop (where delivery used to be)

  P.S: doors are open, just drive through.

• Disable crafting recipes in inventory, find the crafting table :)

• Sign robbery disabled.

• Added new items to hardware store: repairkit, advancedrepairkit, tirerepairkit.

Bug fixes

• Garages are fixed (if you lost a vehicle open a ticket, we'll recover it or refund you for it).

• Other general fixes to prevent crashing

Nerfs

• FuroreGT top speed will be nerfed ( 280-300km/h -> 200km/h) (upcoming)

• Inventory max weight (120kg -> 75kg)

• Inventory slots reduced (41 -> 30)

Updates

• Clothing system changed (restored to default clothing menu)

• Unused scripts removed

• New trucking job (/trucking) or check your job center app.

Map Changes

• More maps removed / fixed, it should help with performance.

Economy

• Mining job prices adjusted.

• Respawn: Inventory is no longer cleared on respawn.

• Vehicle passengers can now see vehicle hud (+seat belt indicator)

• Store robbery:

  • Cash register timing increased (30s -> 45s)

  • Safe cracking duration increased (30s -> 50s)

  • Lockpick breaking chance failed increased (50% -> 75%)

Nerfs

• Handcuff cancel minigame changed difficulty increased.

• Added elevator to EMS rooftop (useable by Police and EMS only).

• Lockpicks no longer destroyed on failed lockpicking.

• Removed push vehicle and added flip car (+ command /flipcar)

• Removed chicken farm job (pretty disappointed with all of you.) -> All income from this job was revoked 😏

Map Changes

• Removed Legion Square map (no more poseidon :( )

Economy

• Certain player bank balances were reset to 10k, if you believe this was a mistake open a ticket.
